Hi... I replaced the factory whip of a dlink 604T with this but found the factory
whip put out a much stronger signal than the 7bd whip. The factory whip
gives me twice the better signal... make of that what you will...

Hi... as it turns out I was using the unit incorrectly. I wasn\'t aware the unit had to be mounted on a metallic surface at least the size of a dinner plate. After mounting it on an old oven-tray - it\'s performance improved markedly, but was still pretty much on par with the factory supplied whip. In any case, I ended up mounting it on an a metal plate to the exterior wall of the building - and have achieved a satisfactory result with that method. Many thanks to Rob from Freenet for taking an interest in the performance of his products - so rare these days. Cheers...
