Active Power over Ethernet (POE) is required where the ethernet cable (CAT5) is longer than 20m. Active POE uses a higher voltage on the CAT5 cable to reduce the DC current, and hence the resistive voltage loss in the cable. The unit includes surge protection on the CAT5 data leads. This provides significant protection to the Ethernet signal leads if there is a nearby lightning strike.
This Active POE Injector is suitable for use with:
- Any POE compatible device that needs appox. 18 VDC. (e.g. IP Cameras, some VoIP phones, ..)
- Ubiquiti™ Products.

802.3af Compatibility
This unit is NOT 802.3af compatible. It has an 18 VDC output. 802.3af specifes 48 VDC (typ.) output.
