Fast, Flexible, and Powerful

Fast. The rated WiFi speed connect speed is 300 Mbps. We have measured throughput of 94 Mbps! That is fast.

Flexible This is a 'swiss army knife' of WiFi networking. Look at the list of features below.

Powerful 90 mW. Most APs sold in Australia have maximum Transmit Power set at 60 mW or less - so they conform to European regulations. The UltraWAP-N300 comes set at 90 mW as standard. Freenet Antennas has worked with the manufacturer to increases the factory setting for you so you get extra range.

Features

  • Backward compatible. Supports simultaneous connections from Wireless-B, Wireless-G, and Wireless-N 'clients'.
  • 90 mW Transmit power. Freenet Antennas has worked with the manufacturer to develop a custom version with higher power. The advantage of the extra power is better range and /or speed. Most other units on the market are have a maximum transmit power of 60 mW or less.
  • MIMO. Multiple-In-Multiple-Out is the use of multiple antennas at both the transmitter and receiver to improve communication performance.
  • Multiple SSIDs. The SSID (or Network Name) is the name you see when scanning for a WiFi network. The UltraWAP-N300 can broadcast 4 different SSIDs. Each SSID can have its own security, WMM and VLAN settings.
  • Wireless Multi-Media (WMM) Support. This is a Quality of Service (QoS) feature that prioritises traffic according to four AC (Access Categories) - voice (VoIP), video, best effort, and background.
  • WPS. WiFi Protected Setup is a standard for easy and secure establishment of a wireless home network whose goal is to simplify the process of configuring security.
  • VLAN Support. Virtual LAN support means you can assign VLAN IDs (from 1 to 4094) to 3 of the 4 SSIDs (Networks).
  • Roaming Link Integrity . In a multi-AP network with mobile laptops that can roam between APs, disconnect and connect information is passed among the APs so that network integrity is maintained. Not all brands of AP support roaming.
  • Multiple Modes
    • Access Point (AP). Use this mode to create a wireless network, allowing PCs, laptops, etc. to connect
    • Station Mode (AP Client Mode). Use this mode to connect a device that only supports wired ethernet connections to an wireless network.
    • Bridge Modes. One UltraWAP can be have bridged connections with up to 6 other UltraWAPs.
    • WDS Bridge Mode (Repeater Mode). The WDS (Wireless Distributed System) function lets this access point act as a wireless LAN access point (AP) and repeater at the same time. Users can use this feature to build up a large wireless network in a large space like airports, hotels and schools, etc. This feature is also useful when users want to bridge networks between buildings where it is impossible to deploy network cable connections between these buildings.
    • Universal Repeater (Range Extender). The UltraWAP acts as both a station (to a central AP), and as an AP (with a new SSID). In this way you can simply extend the range of your central AP. The advantage of this mode over WDS is that the central AP does not have to have a WDS mode. (Some don't). See Sample Network.
  • Robust Wireless LAN Security. A total solution for you to build up a secure wireless LAN network environment is provided so that you can prevent all kinds of hacker intrusion. Controlled access can be enforced using:
    • Hidden ESSID. For enhanced security you can make your AP invisible to others scanning for available networks.
    • MAC access control. For very strong security, you can specify a list of allowed computers that can connect.
    • WEP encryption (64/128 bit key length)
    • WPA/WPA2 (with shared key or with RADIUS)
    • 802.1x authentication (using a RADIUS server)
    • 802.1x authentication with WEP encryption
  • Built-in Radius Server. Rarely found in an AP, the UltraWAP-N300 has a built in Radius Server. If your wireless clients support 802.1x user authentication, you can use the built-in mini radius server to support up to 96 users and 16 IP addresses.
  • Detachable Antennas. This access point has standard rpSMA antenna connectors so that you can add external antennas (Such as the TwinPol® or TwinPol® with Enclosure) for increased range.
  • DHCP Server. There is a built-in DHCP server so you can automate the network configuration of the PCs that connect to your AP. The DHCP server can be disabled.
  • Web Configuration. You configure this access point through a friendly Web user interface with a any standard Internet browser.
  • Cisco VoIP VLAN Compatible. A lot of WiFi gear can not successfly work with Cisco's VoIP phones and Call Manager (CCM). The reason is that they use Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) that most WiFi gear will not pass.

Success Story

With 90 mW of transmit power, the UltraWAP-N300 is significantly more powerful than the great majority of Wireless-N gear. See how a customer found it outperformed Linksys, DLink, and Netgear in a challenging environment.

Preconfiguration Option

If you prefer Freenet Antennas to ship your UltraWAP-N300 preconfigured to your specifications, please select the appropriate option below before you add to your shopping cart. In the COMMENTS section of the order, please provide the information below. All items are optional; we will leave at factory default unless otherwise specified.:
  • IP address for each unit. (Factory default = 192.168.2.1). If not specified, we will ship each unit with successive IP addresses. That is: 192.168.2.1, 192.168.2.2, 192.168.2.3, etc.
  • Mode for each unit. (Factory Default = AP mode). If you just want us to set them up in BRIDGE mode, just say that. We will do the rest.
  • SSID. The 'Network Name' that is seen when scanning for networks. We recommend no spaces in the SSID for maximum compatibility.
  • Channel. WiFi channels 1, 6, and 11 are mutually exclusive. If you have a preference, just tell us.
