With this product, you can quickly install a Point-to-Point (PtP) network bridge link. It comes pre-configured so all you have to do is point-plug-and-play. The equipment is set to 36 dBm output - the maximum effective radiated power that is legal in Australia.
The outdoor equipment is industrial-strength, with an IP rating of IP65.
Here is What You Get
- 2 x 17 dBi Intennas. These fully weatherproof antennas come with integrated pole mounts and can do up to a 20 km link when used as a pair.
- 2 x 90 mW UltraWAP access points. We install these in the Intennas and pre-configure them for you. While you can change the configuration later if your needs change, you should not need to perform any configuration when delivered.
- 2 x 20, 30 or 40 m weatherproof Power over Ethernet (POE) cables. These cables run inside your building and connect to (1) low voltage DC power packs (provided), and (2) your computers or computer networks (LANs).
Applications
- File sharing between buildings
- Internet/email connection extension to a remote building
- Video surveillance using IP cameras.
- Others ...
Features
- 20 km Range. Clear Line of Sight (LOS) required between the antennas
- Layer 2 bridge link. This is not a routed link - meaning you are effectively joining two buildings into one virtual LAN. LAN protocols like DHCP and Microsoft Networking work across the bridge without any configuration. Because the UltraWAP access points in PtP bridge mode are effectively 2-port learning network switches, they do not pass unnecessary LAN traffic to the other building. That is, LAN traffic between PCs in Building 1 does not flow over the wireless link into Building 2; maximising available bandwidth and performance.
- Outdoor use. Corrosion resistant
- Vertical or Horizontal polarization
- Supplied with mast mounting kit. This kit includes adjustment for elevation (up and down)
- Cast metal enclosure, giving low heat buildup, and improved lightning protection.
- Maximum legal power for Australia. You can not deploy a more powerful WiFi system in Australia.
- Up to 20 Mbps data throughput speeds for distances up to 5 km, and up to 10 Mbps at 20 km.
- Cisco™ VLAN and VoIP compatible. We ship our PtP bridge products pre-loaded with special firmware so that they work with Cisco™ VLAN and VoIP products.
Performance
At Freenet Antennas we like to do real-world tests rather than relying on just specification sheets. See below the results of a real-world test over 18.5km.
- Distance: 18.5 km
- AP End: Intennatm with 90 mW UltraWAP installed. Mode = AP.
- Client End: Intennatm with 90 mW UltraWAP installed. Mode = Station Infrastucture (Client).
- Measured signal: 24/100
- Calculated signal: -75 dBm (from here)
- Calculated throughput: 11 Mbps (from here)
Price Comparison

POE Cable Lengths
There are 3 options for you to choose when ordering.
- 20m: This is our default cable. The supplied UltraWAP power pack is sufficient for this cable length.
- 30m: We supply Active 15 V POE injectors.
- 40m: We supply Active 15 V POE injectors.
Default Configuration
This is the default configuration that we ship. If you prefer any of these values changed for your order, just tell us in the comments part of your order.
- Antenna polarisation: Vertical.
- WiFi mode: Point-to-Point Bridge.
- WiFi channel: 11
- WiFi SSID (Network Name): Bridge
- TCP/IP address: 192.168.2.201 and 192.168.2.202. Note: these do NOT have to match the network addresses you are using on your LAN. In fact, it is much better if they are not part of your LAN address space. The only time you would want to change these is if you ALREADY are using these addresses on your network and they would clash.
- TCP/IP subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Firmware: V1.29 (Cisco™ VLAN and VoIP compatible.)
